During the competition the participants may purchase materials at from Integraf and Photographers' Formulary at a 10% discount (up to a maximum discount of $25).
The contest officially begins on August 1st and ends at midnight (CST) on September 30th and the prize winners will be announced on Monday, October 16th.
You must be a registered Holography Forum member before midnight (CST) on September 30th and have expressed your intent to enter the contest by responding to this thread. This rule is especially important for those wishing to take advantage of the Integraf and Photographers' Formulary competition discounts.
Create a single hologram (any format, medium and size) featuring a dog. Why a dog? Last year we used a cat and this year happens to be the Chinese year of the dog so... You may add any other details as your creativity dictates and the dog may be as literal or abstract (but still recognizable as a dog) as you desire.
Take the best photo you can of your hologram and save it as a
high-quality jpeg image. Send the image and include your full name, where you're
from, the size of the hologram and any other details you desire to contest
[at] holographyforum [dot] org by midnight (CST) on September 30th.
You may also supply videos of your hologram if you believe it will benefit
you in the competition. Please contact
Michael Harrison to arrange transfer of the video file.
If you just can't get a good photo and are willing to mail
the hologram out, send it to
Michael Harrison and he'll photograph it for you.
Make sure to send it so it will arrive at least a few days before the
contest deadline and include return postage unless you intend to donate
it as a prize for the contest.
All entries will be posted to the forum on October 1st and voting will
begin at that time. Votes may not be changed once made so make your
selections carefully. Your may vote based on whatever criteria you choose.
You may only vote once. In the case of a tie for any place we'll have
a run-off vote.
All skill levels will be represented in this contest and just because amateurs will be going up against pros doesn't mean they won't win. Give it your best shot and make some great holograms!
