been testing David red diode and found that if i mount it on a te cooler to keep it cold, I can get 40+mw out of it and still get good contrast in fringes, and now my question i was comparing the paper work on this diode to the new 488nm diodes that say they are single mode, just like the red at a higher operating temp the freq of the diode goes up and mode hopping , and some manufactures are using this diodes mounted on a te chip and getting 1m coherence out of them keeping the output about 50mw, has anyone tried yet to see if this diode can be used for holography?
