Re: Ain't nobody doing a anything?

We're doing technical stuff, but display holographers aren't interested in technical holography. There is certainly some of that. However, not all of us are display holographers. I, for one, am just a rank amateur willing to waste lots money on an interesting hobby. Someday I may actually produce a...

Re: pulsed holography

Yeah, I thought first about the energy levels a single pulse would need to provide. There are not many 10,000 Watt diode lasers out there. However, why does it need to be all in one pulse? Isn't pulsed mode (with the diode being pulsed continually with, say, a 50% duty cycle) used in many laser diod...

Re: It's time...guidance apppreciated.

I also recommend the Integraf kit as a starting point. If your intent is to discover how interesting a hobby in holography can be, the Integraf kit will get you involved; the Liti kit has you snap a few plastic parts together then flip a switch. Either way, you'll probably end up with at least one (...

MIT open courseware

The MIT Holographic Imaging course, first taught in spring 2003 and now part of the MIT Open Courseware initiative, is featured here: https://www.inverse.com/article/5173-make-your-own-hologram-at-m-i-t-this-week-s-saturday-syllabi Here is a direct link to the course, itself: http://ocw.mit.edu/cour...

Ok. I think the PDF upload problem is resolved. That system admin guy really ought to be fired.

Re: Spatial Filter

Ouch!! Those images are a little large. Let's try something more modestly scaled.

Re: Spatial Filter

I was right about one thing and wrong on another. The 910 pinhole adjustment is a bit stiff, but it also has a 10x objective.

Re: Spatial Filter

I have couple of Newport spatial filters that are surplus. One is the 900 model without pinhole. The other is a 910 without objective. When I am no longer at the place that is not home, I will take a couple of photographs and recheck how smoothly the adjustments move. (If I remember correctly, the p...

Agreed!!

I'd put the transmission on my watch list, but hadn't quite made it to entering a starting bid. My loss. I won't bid against you.
