Re: Introductions

i've read quite a few posts by people claiming to have made denisyuks on a concrete floor, does that sound possible to you? i will only have a beam expander between the laser and the plate. i think i'll give it a shot with DCG, but resort to AgX if i can't produce any holograms whatsoever. even marg...

Re: holographyforum IRC channel?

do you guys use reddit? why not create a subreddit -- i think it would be exposed to a lot more people and might help grow the holography community.

Re: Introductions

What sort of green laser? A 100 - 150 mW diode module from eBay is unlikely to work very well. i bought a 100mw microgreen from holomaker, so it is SLM. although he recommends that it isn't run at full power continuously, so at least 50mW. maybe more, i have no experience with these lasers. anybody...

Re: Introductions

and it's just a matter of time until i'm pleading for help with my DCG holograms  Start with silver halide. No kidding. :) why do you say that? i wanted to start with DCG because i didn't like the idea of having to buy film. DCG seems like it's dirt cheap, doesn't have to be ordered from speci...

Re: Introductions

hello, my name is gregory and i'm a 25-year-old prospective holographer. in retrospect, i think i should've chosen a less ambiguous username. i don't think i realised that i had already been bitten by the holography bug when i created my account! my background is mainly in computer programming and m...

holographyforum IRC channel?

hello all, i'm a new user to this forum, just preparing to take my first steps into holography. it breaks my heart a little bit that this forum is so inactive, and even moreso that this is the most active (english?) forum about holography in the world. i think it would be easier to stay engaged with...

Re: where do you guys get small glass plates?

In any case, thanks for the replies. I was about to order from hometrainingtools, but the shipping to Canada is many times the price of the slides themselves! You sure of that? I checked the site (admittedly only briefly), and I thought it had flat-rate shipping to the US and Canada. ($5.95 USD for...

Re: where do you guys get small glass plates?

i've been looking for small glass plates to practice with. i was only able to find standard microscope slides, but i would like something larger -- maybe 2x2" or 2x3" if i could order them in bulk from china that would be ideal. thanks! Talk to Integraf http://www.integraf.com/shop/hologr...
