Re: recent DCG hologram
Nice. Wonder what difference it would have made if just 532 or 488nm.

Printout revisited
Reading up again on using 2.5gms of KI in a liter distilled water solution as a printout preventer. It’s recommended as being the very last step before drying. I’m using a Nick’s #5 for Agfa catechol developer w/ an FeEDTA bleach, followed by filtered water wash, followed by 4 step ethyl alcohol gra...

Re: Alternative photopolymer film
Talk to Covestro. If you’re prepared to make a custom order, they’ll make you whatever you want. They may also have limited quantities of custom films already made up. I’m guessing that you wouldn’t be the first customer requesting this.

Re: Alternative photopolymer film
Covestro needs nothing except exposure to sunlight. Zilux I think has to be heated. Pick your poison or mix your own from the many recipes available in the literature,

Re: Using a 660nm laser to expose legacy AgX Agfa, Ilford, HRT (BB) plates
Petr & Dinesh, Definitely odd that you had the opposite experience with Agfa materials vis a vis red vs green & thanks for the suggestion re a cheap blue pointer. Re the blue pointer, I’m old school in the sense that whether or not a plate can be exposed (or not) and turn dark in developer, ...

Re: Using a 660nm laser to expose legacy AgX Agfa, Ilford, HRT (BB) plates
Dinesh, The point of testing the 660nm laser was that it’s a red laser to expose red sensitive legacy materials. You could be correct about trying a blue laser, assuming one has an appropriate blue laser with which to test. That’s a whole other technical rabbit hole to go down that takes me away fro...

Plate types tested: Agfa 10E75 NAH, Agfa 8E75 (NAH), Agfa 8E75HD (NAH), Ilford SP696T (NAH), HRT BB640 (NAH). All plates ranging in age from about 20 to 45 years old. Hologram...

Re: Reuse of Pyrogallol developer
Hi Martin, Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I can see that we’re thinking along similar lines. It’s possibly important to differentiate between the different old glass plate emulsions of Ilford SP696T, Agfa 8E75HD and HRT BB640. The old HRT BB640 results are almost a moot point since I only have...
