Re: Is brightness a function of exposure time ?
Hey, Thank you so much for your explanations & links, I read it through and it was really a good learning for me :-) I prepared some splitted D-19 yesterday night, I now have part A and part B like this : D-19 Part A : 2 g Metol 90 g Sodium Sulfite 8 g Hydroquinone 5 g Potassium Bromide 0.5 litr...

Re: Is brightness a function of exposure time ?
Thank you very much for such detailed info :-) I made 10 tests on same material, same subject, with 10 different exposure time and.. yes :-) I clearly have a "best" result in the middle, not enough is dark, too much is blurry, the best for me being around 1,5 secs exposure. I also found th...

Is brightness a function of exposure time ?
Hello Everyone, I wish you all happy Christmas & New eve 2018 ! I am still making Denisyuk holograms, and trying to master this step before going any further with a more expensive set involving mirrors or lenses. At the moment my setup is : Laser source : 100mw laser diode with collimating lens ...

Randomly-polarized laser : how bad is it ?
Hia ! In my reading of the wonderful book Practical Holography, I figured that my laser was, in fact, randomly polarized (Uniphase 1125). Question : how bad is it ? - It will not be easy to use the brewster angle to avoid unnecessary reflexion on the glass plate (= half of power lost ), so, my 15mw ...

Re: Expand laser beam with micoscope objective : which one ?
Thanks for your kind information :-) I managed to buy the "Practical Holography IV" and this reading is really helpful. In this book they recommend either a double-concave lens, or a microscope objective x40, or a sphere lens as expander depending on the length of your holography bench. No...

Expand laser beam with micoscope objective : which one ?
Hia Holofriends ! I've been using a 40x microscope objective for quite a while now, I harvested this objective from a cheap omegon microscope, it served me quite well but I believe it has reached its limits in terms of quality. Sparks/dots and aberrations are now too much for what I'm looking to ach...

Re: Which chemistry for "HOLOFILM 250 PAR" from Applied Holographics PLC ?
Thing is the longer exposure time, the higher the chances of a slight movement of the plate/object, whenever I try to go farther than approx 15 seconds I seem to loose the image completely on a "random" basis, like, sometimes I have a picture at 16 seconds sometimes not. I have to improve ...

Selling Uniphase 1508P-0 (tem00/polarized/1mw/633nm)
Hia ! I upgraded my holographic set-up and I now have a 10mw laser, meaning my good old Uniphase 1mw red laser can go to an other holo-beginner/holo-fan ! If anyone is interrested in this laser, which gave me really satisfactory results in combination with "Ultimate Plates", please let me ...

Re: Which chemistry for "HOLOFILM 250 PAR" from Applied Holographics PLC ?
Very nice compilation, I printed several documents :) I upgraded my 1mw Uniphase 1508P-0 by a 10mw hene tube with power source. I gave it a few shots on this Holofilm. Result is still clearly not as nice as what I can get out of Ultimate plates from Mr Gentet, but it helps setting up my lab & I ...

Thank you for this very clear answer
Would be a great idea to put this question in the wiki for other holo-begginers !
