Re: Improvement on my project
Nice work, what were your final steps for sealing the hologram?

Re: Improvement on my project
The black plastic isn't ideal for holograms. A silver/metal camera would probably show up a lot better. Also you'll always have those lines unless you use a first-surface mirror. Not sure why your professor would mind you using better equipment, but I highly recommend it. Having two reflections from...

Re: Improvement on my project
90 minute exposure without vibration is going to be tough... you can see how the lens part is clearer because it's in good contact with the glass, and thus more stable. Definitely keep going with the first surface mirror. I still recommend making smaller holograms... early on you want to create as m...

They're too big to upload here, here's an imgur link: https://imgur.com/a/25IE0Fv
Doesn't include the heatsink/fan, controller or power supply. Just the laser head.

18K hours on the head, but most of them must have been in standby mode with the pump diode off. This laser has a ton of life left, essentially performs like new: 27% reserve current at 100% power, or 23% reserve current at 110% power! Guaranteed SLM! Re: Improvement on my project
Is first surface mirror and one way mirror the same? Not sure about that. Edmund Optics tends to have first surface mirrors for quite cheap: https://www.edmundoptics.com/optics/optical-mirrors/flat-mirrors/150mm-experimental-grade-first-surface-mirrors/ Take a look at their clearance items as well....

Re: Improvement on my project
By the looks of it, you're not using a first surface mirror. There should be no gap between your fingernail and the reflection.
I'm not 100% sure what the consequences of not using first surface mirrors is, but it can't be good!

Re: Improvement on my project
Please post links to videos, it's hard to diagnose a picture of a hologram. I recommend making smaller holograms as well. But if you want to calculate the exposure for 5" x 7" inch (17.78cm x 12.7cm) hologram: 17.78cm * 12.7cm = ~225cm^2 50mW / 225cm^2 = Each cm^2 gets 0.222mW per second, ...

Finally The best one (at this moment) Thank you pluto and everyone. 278FF892-7053-4FFC-98A8-11574780ACFA.jpeg https://youtu.be/x8As5vZkGeU So the left side 1min is call Narrow band and right side 5min is call Broadband right? Or I just overexposed it. Is it better to get closer to 90degree or 56deg...
