Re: Report on my experience with VE532 film

Hi Now I make glass. 30x40 cm. With it's much easier to carry out experiments. If something does not like it, I wash off and watered again. But to send a glass problematic. It is necessary to make film. I can send the film. But since it takes time in synthesis of the emulsion is about 10 days. So I'...

Re: DCG split beam holography.

Hi Grayham, I've inserted the sensitivity curves for dcg. Curve 1 in the lower picture is the sensitivity of dcg before exposure, and the one to use to determine exposure. If you look at the 488 point and the 532 point, you'll see that sensitivity at 532 drops by about 20% odd from the 488 point, or...

Re: Masking Tape

You really shouldn't use cheap anything for anything. The better the equipment, the better the hologram.

Re: DCG split beam holography.

In general there are a lot of factors, such as emulsion thickness, softness of film, dcg formula etc. However, as a general rule of thumb, at 532 (I assume the 315 emits at 532), the exposure is about 70 mJ/cm^2. The exact time of exposure depends on the light on your plate, which in turn depends on...

Re: Neutron holography

Yes, this came up on Facebook. They don't actually say they did it, just that they see a way of doing it. The problem is that interference is caused by the Principle of Superposition; the E fields are algebraically additive. Without the Principle of Superposition, there could not be any resultant E ...

Another Leia!

So, all the people who didn't like our Leia, are going to really like the Korean one, because it's published and it has/will get a lot of publicity! But, they still call it a Leia. http://phys.org/news/2016-10-full-circle-viewing-degree-electronic-holographic.html Here's ours. Not so polished and no...

Re: Ain't nobody doing a anything?

We went to Girl Tech 2016 again this year where we demonstrated optics and optical principles to young girls, 5th to 8th grade. As I mentioned a few posts back, these are pictures of some of the girls at our demo. We set up a few holograms, and a few demonstrations. For the demonstrations we had: Po...
