Silver Halide Recipe / Formula please
Hi, Can anyone point me at a resource for a good holographic emulsion formula please? Single Jet, Double Jet or just a 3 part mix. I'm looking for something I can make that is repeatable and coat with a Mayer bar please. Or if you have a recommendation on a book that would be excellent too. I alread...

Re: Default Silver Halide Sensitivity
Hi Dannybee I did try PVA to start with but found it too water soluble to be useful. As soon as I dipped the dry plate in any kind of liquid it started to melt. Can you tell me how you managed to keep the PVA from melting please? Or was it a special brand? I am going to try adding a dye after I have...

Re: Default Silver Halide Sensitivity
Hi Martin, 5 -10x would be a lot to give up :) I'll guess I will keep doing that. I'm working on a very simplified diffusion method that allows me to make a lot of 10x10cm plates quickly and cheaply I have read both Jeff's and Han's methods and am basing a process on the supplied information but wit...

Default Silver Halide Sensitivity
Hi, I have been making my own silver halide plates with varying degrees of success(and failures :) ) To pre-sensitise my plates I currently use an Ascorbic acid bath but am starting to look at TEA and other methods. I know TEA gives you about 2 x the sensitivity of an un-sensitised plate but can't f...

Re: Chinese figurines and random stuff
Hi,
The hologram looks nice and crisp.
May I ask what light you are using to reconstruct the hologram.
Thank you

Re: Expand laser beam with micoscope objective : which one ?
Hi, 90cm is enough room to do some good work. I've made some nice multi beam beam reflections on a 60 x 90 (2' x 3') breadboard with a spatial filter. I've also made some OK single beams on a 12" square slab on an inner tube with a HeNe My advice is to not be too binary and just use what works....

Re: Mayer Bar / Drawdown Rod, Wire wound coating rod.
It's definitely an idea though currently I'm just enjoying working through everything.
I'm still looking for advice on a bar though if you have used one?
Kind Regards
Grayham

Mayer Bar / Drawdown Rod, Wire wound coating rod.
Hi, Could someone advise my on coating bars please? I will be coating dcg on to glass and read in practical holography I need around a 7um emulsion layer for DCG. The bar mentioned in the book states a #24 gauge bar but when I looked this up I think this was about 60um. I have found a UK source for ...
