If you have ever used a mercury arc light with narrow bandpass filter to display laser viewable holograms, and are willing to discuss it, please email me: jburns@optonline.net.
Thanks!

Re: Litiholo Film without glass?
John , a couple tips. The film changes as its exposed, causing movement , it will NOT work without using a glass backer.quite possibly the original plate I sent you may not even be thick enough...try using a very thick piece 1/2”? , this may help w your issues, if you get your ref angle and polariz...

Re: Litiholo Film without glass?
The amber safelight is for the Bayer/Covestro HX200 which is panchromatic. Harlan IS the source for Zilux. I’ll message you his contact info. By all reports it’s good stuff - main difference from HX200 is that Zilux has to be baked after exposure. Never bought any LitiHolo kits so maybe they’re not ...

Re: Litiholo Film without glass?
Ok - makes sense. Are you using a silver halide film to make tests before moving to photopolymer? Have you tried using glass painted flat black on the back side?

Re: Litiholo Film without glass?
You can buy small quantities of HX200 from Geola in Lithuania. Google them. You can buy sample quantities of Zilux from Harlan Papert. Google him. He’s on Facebook and LinkedIn. A good safelight for the HX200 is an 1 watt amber light: Westinghouse 03465 Nanolux 1 watt 1G19 LED bulb, amber, 4 pack vi...

Re: Understanding transmission holograms and HOEs/gratings
Urge you to get a copy of Practical Holography, (any edition but 4th is best) by Graham Saxby (RIP) - 4th has Stanislovas Zacharovas as co-author. It will contain easy to understand answers to your questions. If you’re in NY, you can take an excellent and inexpensive basic course with Sam Moree. If ...

Re: Drying silver halides emulsion with alcool ?
Thank you for sharing that link Petr. I would add the following comments. Long before the 1980 paper referenced by McGrew’s paper in the link, Andreas Graube at Hughes Research and Rich Rallison in Utah (and maybe others) detailed their usage of alcohol drying of gelatin based holograms. In 1976 &am...

Are you talking about reflection holograms or transmission holograms?
