Re: SilverX color holographic emulsion

Very interesting, thanks for posting! Similar approaches can be found in RU 2292573 (http://russianpatents.com/patent/229/2292573.html) and DE 10252119 (https://depatisnet.dpma.de/DepatisNet/depatisnet?action=pdf&docid=DE000010252119A1). At ESPACENET you might get a (machine) translation. The Ru...

Re: Default Silver Halide Sensitivity

I'm working on a very simplified diffusion method that allows me to make a lot of 10x10cm plates quickly and cheaply I have read both Jeff's and Han's methods and am basing a process on the supplied information but with some simplifications to speed the process up. This is good news. Looking forwar...

Re: Default Silver Halide Sensitivity

Hi, I assume it's difficult to give an exact figure on the speed increase by ascorbic acid since it may also depend on other factors like: the kind of gelatin, AgX concentration etc. I would have expected the speed increase to be in the 5 - 10 x range. As for TEA treatment, as you know, you'll get a...

In that case I'd definitely switch to a rehalogenating bleach...

Re: Looking for spatial filters

But now I have stopped using spatial filters and only use homemade lenses, they are much easier to clean and install. All my holograms are made like this. ;) https://holographyforum.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=8891 Fantastic work! I used a different approach for home made lenses, involving a...

Re: Ultimate U08 / Bleach : reversal or rehalogenating ?

Great reply - thank you for shedding light on scattering, Dinesh! So, particles of about, less than, 50nm will strongly Rayleigh scatter, and the scattering is more intense for lower, blue shifted, wavelengths. So, as the colour changes from red to yellow, scattering increases. You're referring to t...

Re: Ultimate U08 / Bleach : reversal or rehalogenating ?

As for Valery's holograms what amazed me that he was able to have good diffraction efficiency without even bleaching the hologram... if the hologram isn't bleached then only the surface of it would responds to light as amplitude hologram and "first-contact" phase ? it's way more complicat...

Re: Ultimate U08 / Bleach : reversal or rehalogenating ?

Here is a recipe for the "Brilland bleach" that is what is said to be the recipe that Gentet uses: 30g Ferric sulfate (should be Fe III, which is what's usually sold) 30g Citric acid (readily available in drugstores) 30g Potassium Bromide 1000 cc water Yes, that's exactly the bleach I had...

Re: Ultimate U08 / Bleach : reversal or rehalogenating ?

For a better understanding I'd look for Bjelkhagen's book (https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-540-70756-1). It covers at length your questions. Not to forget also the search function of our forum. Due to the loss of material (metal silver that is) involving reversal bleaches, you've to exp...

Re: D.I.Y. holographic photopolymer

also I know in many old photographic 1880 they use Glycerin with gelation, I made a gel plate for my wife to use in her card making it was gel & gelation. also I think all 3 could work together . one time I took glycerin (that had a fragrance add)and add it to gelation and it became almost like...
