Old Agfa 10E56 plates
Can you add a green dye to the green film and revitalize it? I have no idea, I never tried to play with the emulsion. Although I don't understand emulsion chemistry, I do not think that just adding the dye would help as the emulsion gets as white as milk-in-water after development; I would expect t...

Old Agfa 10E56 plates
Hi, we have a full fridge of very old Agfa plates (10E56 + antihalation, 10E75, 8E75) - I think they expired about 20 years ago. Anyway, the red ones work great. On the other hand, when I try a green one, the emulsion gets milky and no image appears (maybe once I got a very very weak one). Does anyo...

scaling in holography
Thanks guys for a lot of answers. Dinesh, are you sure that longitudinal magnification in your article (page 5, first equation on the page, unnumbered) is correct? I did not have time to recalculate it but I checked four publications (two of them in Czech, Goodman's Introduction to Fourier optics, 3...

Computer generated hologram media question
Hi, we have a laser litography system at the University of West Bohemia, Czech Republic. We can make pixel about 1 um big, the photoresist size is about 5x5 cm. You have to ask for the price but last time it was about 350 EUR (about 450 USD) for a hologram 3x3 cm. PM me for details. You can also ask...

scaling in holography
Hi, is it possible to make a hologram of an object in other than 1:1 scale? I know it is possible to place a lens between a plate and an object, or to play with H1-H2 process, but every such technique I know has different lateral and longitudinal magnifications. Is it possible to make them equal? I ...

Holowiki Resurection
The only problem I see is the funding. What about a "Donate" button on the holowiki page and a paypal account? What is your estimate of the cost?

Nice one. What are the hologram dimensions? Do you make reflection or transmission H1?

3d printers- help or hinder
Actually, in June issue of OPN there is a short article about open source 3D printed optic components. See http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0059840 and http://www.thingiverse.com/jpearce/collections/open-source-optics . Metal optomechanic components are great but ju...

Who can help me
Good decision, Chanwoo. I have a few holograms by smirholo and they are excellent.

Why ?
Because nobody wants to buy them. It's a matter of content and price. I buy - from time to time - technically interesting holograms. For me (for example), the content I am looking for has to be technically interesting - various holographic techniques, various processing, recording materials, unusua...
