442nm HeCd Replacement

Post by Jem »

Hi all

Saw this...

It's a seemingly nice replacement for HeCd's with great coherence length. I guess the price, as always, will be the killer though.

Somebody reported that Nichia blue diodes from Casio projectors that are solt onn eBay here and there have good coherence at certain current if thermally stabilized. Let's try?

There was a great thread about using the C*s*o diodes on the old forum. Lot's of good information on there. Let's hope the archive is safe and it reappears in the not too distant future.

I'd like to try blue diodes as well. But now I'm too busy making a unidirectional ring MOPA laser from an SSY-1 for pulsed holography :)
