Wondering if anyone has any experience with these Newport 935 series high power variable attenuators? Reading the description, they don’t exactly sound like the 930 series beamsplitters.

Lee Lacy has one on his table and could fine tune the Argon Laser’s power output, one beam in one beam out ....

A completely unnecessary and redundant accessory...the output of any ion laser can be varied with excellent precision merely by varying the tube current. An infinitely more useful tool is a variable beamsplitter, for adjusting the object-to-reference beam ratio.

Mr wizard, Not so sure about that ! Some high power gas lasers liked to run nice and constant, w this tool the output could be finely adjusted without touching any parameters on the laser…?
