No AmDi you say?

Oh, and I forgot.

Instead of AmDi, with a nice blue laser, revisit using sugar free Cherry gelatin with Vanilla.

But seriously, crossling of gelatin happens with deep blue to UV light. So it really may be possible to use a dye that absorbs the blue and add a little real vanilla. Then use light fixing. How cool it would be to make a hologram using no toxic chemicals at all.

( I started a new thread in case there are replies/interest. I did not want to hijack Dave's thread too far off topic.)

Greetings, JFP:
The Nobel committee and the French Culinary Institute eagerly await the results of your experiments. Edible holograms could greatly reduce obesity and would allow fine cuisine (in an insubstantial form) to be replicated for the masses. Taste and smell, texture, the hint of gristle and decay - all will soon be possible with direct brain stimulation in the off-world colonies where a new world awaits you.
