Howdy all! Peep my first display hologram

A solid effort from transmission master on VRP-M to reflection on VRP-M as well. I'm pleased with the results, and think it looks great matted and framed. Please enjoy!

I'll try my best...

It was a few nights ago.. I had a few cocktails in me and some company at the time..heheh

I hit the plate with 75 µjoules/sqcm total, which took maybe 23 seconds(?) My beam ratios were as close to 1:1 as I could get - it varied from spot to spot, as the projected image was just shy of focusing where I opted to locate H2. The plate almost burned in the hot spots, but it's cool in that those are the spots where the foremost knobs of the coral are really reachin' fer ya, and seems to have pretty much resulted in a lot of "presence" to the image right in those spots. The plate developed a fairly even and dark black, though showed more of a mottly development after the stop-bath when held up to my safety light.

It didn't bleach right away, and that was encouraging. I did my bleach-stop in distilled water for a couple of minutes after the orange washed away, then put it emulsion-up in a collander and washed it for a few minutes under cold tap water. At this point it showed those spots where the coral was close - as spots where the blue haze was less visible and instead spots where it looked maybe.....lightly scratched?

Dunno. I'm new.

Anyway - I am in Florida, right on the Gulf Coast, and this humidity is killing me - blue images - arg! I consulted the VRP-M spec page and read that one can color-shift with D-Sorbitol... heheh - oddly-enough, I didn't have any D-Sorbitol around, but eh... Sugar substitute and a humectrant? OK. Sure. I don't have artificial sweetener around either... But I do have sugar! So - in the spirit of what the hell, I started adding a spoonful of sugar to my wetting agent some time back, and golly that sure greened-up my images.

Other than the thoroughly-improvised color-shifting, my processing is standard JD-2 plus the extra tap water bleach-wash finished out with a lay-flat-and-squeegy-then-slow-air-dry (the squeegying is way necessary with table sugar). Oh and I have been voraciously consuming VRP-M 2.5X2.5 glass plates. I've considered flexible film but would really have to possess much more confidence in my skills before getting into that.

Nice job Justin ! Can you provide a nice sharp still photo? The video is nice and im sure this hologram is much sharper in real life.

Could you show us your table setup: P

Yes its quite easy to burn up a box of those little expensive plates

Hurray.

Turns out I have a couple of stills of the final hologram framed and lit...

This is a suprise you see as I do not own a decent camera and seemingly got lucky that we shot a few stills of it hanging.

Plus a couple of setup pics - though we only thought to snap any pictures the night I shot the master.

I, however, have no clue how to post pictures...

Wait though....

I may have figured something out here....

Eeeeerm...

Let's see if hosting them on Geocities works:

Two indistinct setup pics:

And two photographs from just a little too far away of a crooked hologram:

We'll see....
