Amazing - even more amazing, the linked clip explains that the B&W film camera was recording an image from a *** B&W monitor. *** I think the "chroma dots" they mention are due to the 3.57 MHz color subcarrier which encodes color by its phase shift from the reference burst at the start of each horizontal line. The dots would correspond to the peaks of the 3.57 MHz color signal which would shift (VERY slightly) left and right as the phase encoded color varied. Awesome work!
