Polygrama TR materials update. New development mechanism

Post by Sergio »

Dear friends,

Polygrama improved the transmission/reflection photopolymer line material over the last batch with an optically clear material.

Added the 405-442nm blue sensitive material.

Transmission efficiency tested to up ~80% DE, for tests small photopolymer quantities are economical since you could use 0.05ml per 6x6cm plate sandwich.

New tips:
- Viscosity modifier added fo thick stability.

- Improved adhesion to glass, hologram scratch resistent, forms a plastic hologram.

- For reflection holograms the required minimum laser power is now 0.1mW/cm².

- Simple alcohol/water immersion increases bandwidth considerably.

- Film thickness useable is in the range 5 to 40um. .

- Film thickness useable is in the range 5 to 40um.

(Although the mechanism whereby the system polymerizes upon energetic radiation is not entirely clear, it is believed that bleaching rate and holographic fringe formation depends on laser intensity).

The Photopolymer can be used with a simple sandwich with/without fixed spaces, just spread some emulsion and set. Great for rapid transmission tests, no film movement occurs specially in transmission holograms.

New development mechanism: Due the outstanding structure, the polymer can be dip "developed" in water, it will detach the polymer film forming a pellicle that could work as decal, the hologram must remain wet but we are providing a new water polymer seal. It will greatly enhance the image brightness to an unprocedent level with some shift to green.
