I'll add my two cents to say that if you can only afford one book, make it Practical Holography by Saxby (any edition). It's the only book that I've seen or heard of that comes closest to being the "bible" for beginning holographers.

whoops, replying too early in the morning to the wrong message.

On the other hand, I'm also glad you've posted floh. Since I (and probably a few others ) can't read German, do you have a moment to tell us what you've been up to?

(my english is not best. i'll try to write as good as i can. a course is scheduled.)

my website was started as a diary of my first experiments in holography.
Now, two years later i have some small but self-made holograms. You can see them in the gallery. The website is always in work but not updated at this time. I work on it sometimes when i travel by train to my girlfriend which lives in geneva, four hours away from me.

one of my next tasks is to finish my optical table. I collected some optical materials, lasers and books about holography in the last two years. The biggest win was a big box of books, holograms and optics from a old holography freak from germany. I also bought a 10" (250mm) telescope mirror.

i think this is enough for this time. if you want to read my page without the know of german, try a online translator like babelfish.altavista.com or google.com the translations looks funny but readable.

Why have you password protected your "collection". Is this collection pictures of your holograms? If so, why would you restrict access?

Yes this is my collection of holograms.
I have password protected it, because I don't know
if it is a problem with copyrights if i show this pictures.

I don't know the copyright laws of your country but in the US you can take pictures (although galleries may prevent it) of copyrighted works and display them publicly as long as you say whose work it is and don't try to sell it as your own.
