I do not believe I am advertising as it is impossible to find fresh DCG plates anywhere in the world. But now you have it, finally a supplier willing to make DCG plates for the amature holographer.

Click on the link at the bottom of the page "Dinesh & JP".

They don't seem to have any DCG supplier information on their site. Are you sure they're ready to start supplying DCG plates?

Maybe I'm just stirring the water but it seems to me that you're jumping the gun a bit.

Dinesh says he'll make some plates for interested parties but in the same "breath" says he thinks nobody will take him up on the offer. Also, your recommendation to look at their link at the bottom of the page won't take them to anything that will tell how to go about ordering DCG plates.
Until they put information up on their site that says what they'll deliver and how much it will cost, you can't really call them a DCG plate supplier.

I'm not planning on "going green" any time soon but I wonder if pre-coated plates could be relatively easily sensitized for red.

Dinesh, How much would it cost for a package (4-10) of 4x5" plates?
How easy/hard would it be for you to do smaller and larger plates?

Also, what do you think about John's idea of selling un-sensitized plates?

Well, let me correct myself again. I guess I am speaking completely out of turn but it is exciting that they would even concider making some plates for some of us to try. I should have stated to click on their link and contact them for specifics.

Dinesh forgive me again for being so anxious. I just think it would be neat to have others the availablity to make DCG holograms.

Again, I do not know of any specifics, contact them for more information.

On the red sensitizing of DCG, Jean should be able to help you there. I believe he shoots in the red in DCG.

Ok. We can make 4x5's at $4.00 per plate plus shipping. This 'shipping' cost will, of course depend on where it goes and how fast it needs to get there. We can make any size required up to 8x10, but this price is based on 4x5's, smaller plates will cost less and larger plates will cost more. There is no difference between sensitized or unsensitized, the extra few grams of AmDi is not significant to the time or cost of plate production Also, we're thinking of orders of 10 or so plates deliverable within about a week. We're OK with smaller or slightly larger quantities. If somene wants a gazillion of them perhaps contacting us for a schedule is the best way to go.

Let me again state that DCG plates have a short lifetime. We shoot our plates from 3 days after manufacture to about 10 days. After that, a distinct green shift occurs in the image, but they're still bright. After about 2 weeks they start to drop in efficency, so you can still make holograms, but not as bright. This drop in DE increase gradually until after about 5 or so weeks they're pretty much useless. We'll help with processing and/or exposure, but we must say that "results are not guaranteed". We'll do all we can to make sure you get the best possible hologram, but unless we shoot it ourselves, there's no telling what local conditions may occur.
DCG is a matter of juggling formula. We have a set formula and other may want unsensitized plates to sensitize to their own formula or red sensitive plates (Jean or Jeff Blythe can probably help with this). Our formula allows you to get a 'kick start' on DCG holography. As you get more involved you may want to change your formula. As we get more involved we may offer different formula, but for now we'd like to stick sticking with our formula or unsensitized.

A couple of points:
First: Thank you John for bringing this up.
Second: John does not know this but a standing policy Joy and I have had is that if anyone steers any business our way we give them a commission. Let me stress that this is the first time John has heard of this but since this is a result of John's postings, I intend to give him a commission from any sales that result from that posting.

No, I do not want a commission if you sell any plates. My commission would be seeing more and more people experiencing the awsome brilliance DCG has to offer.
