Holography Noob....Questions

Yes, i did use it to record holograms on dcg plates. The only modification made was to remove the round protecting glass plate, which is placed in the path of the beam. This laser consumes 270mA, so with a good Li-ion battery it can be run for about 2hrs. The light output is constant even after long operating times. The longest exposures were around 15-20 minutes and the recorded scenes (denisyuk) were about 10cm deep.

With the glass plate etalon test the laser produces strong high contrast interference fringes. It runs mainly single mode with a very weak second mode - which is maybe 2% or less. It seems to have a built in IR filter.

It is quite easy to remove the laser module. It could be cooled additionally by mounting it in an aluminium block but it runs fine as it is. I purchased the laser 1 year ago and after heavy usage it is still doing fine.
