Total Noob... Which laser?

Well, my deal on the HeNe fell through again. I had found 3 HeNe heads and a PSU for about $30 on ebay, but got outbid by a dollar, doh! So, I'm still looking for a laser. It might be a bit before I find another one. I'll let ya know what happens..

I used to have a bet with a 10 year old, any 5mw laser pointer we could find that spread into a even-ish beam we would try to make a hologram with. I never found one that would not. The classic from Frank DeFreitas' book is the Infiniter 200. They are easy to modify to work off of 3 D cell batteries and work well. I am not sure if they are still being made.
