Copper Sulfate bleach
Copper Sulfate bleach
anyone use Copper Sulfate bleach with color? does it reduce blue haze?
Re: Copper Sulfate bleach
So grain size seems to be the problem? What AgX emulsion do you use?dannybee wrote:anyone use Copper Sulfate bleach with color? does it reduce blue haze?
Re: Copper Sulfate bleach
ok I've try a very weak fixer on fuji was able to reduce blue haze ... need to test this more .. looks like i may have reduced green dye (magenta) so may have to add it back in... but definitely reduces grain size ... now need to document this.. and run more testing
1 I fixed one half of the plate
2 then wash and dry
3 exposed to white light
4 develop and bleached then dry
5 compare the haze under white led light......

Re: Copper Sulfate bleach
So grain size is the issue. I seem to recall Fuji's grain size was said to be around 25nm.dannybee wrote:fuji
Wisdom from the color holography guys at the 2015 Saint Peterburg symposium suggests that grain size has to be <10nm for blue recordings...

Re: Copper Sulfate bleach
Yes, 25nm seems too large to avoid blue scattering, especially for the short 457nm wavelength. I would think that PFG-03C or Ultimate would be a better choice.
Re: Copper Sulfate bleach
PFG-01 should work by make it panchromatic? .. just trying to work with what I have on hand... on a fixed income nowJoe Farina wrote:Yes, 25nm seems too large to avoid blue scattering, especially for the short 457nm wavelength. I would think that PFG-03C or Ultimate would be a better choice.
