457nm laser

Post by Joe Farina »

I noticed these:

I was wondering if anyone has heard about this company. (At least they have a sales office in California.) I haven't checked prices for the higher-powered ones.

For $7K I can get you a Melles Griot BLS 601 laser used in good condition. 300 mW SLM @ 457 nm.

The company selling these wants me to sell several at once. Why wants to go in on one? Phil

That sounds like a good price for 300mW at 457. Any idea how many hours on the heads? But what I'm looking for is the 100mW version of that laser with low hours.

$2850 for a 10mW 457nm laser is not that great of a deal. Equivalent to a 30mW cyan laser system which you could get for under $1k.

Hi Pluto, for color holography cyan 488 can make a difference compared to 457. If the colors on the object dip below ~488 while using this wavelength, it could start to cause problems, if the intention is to accurately reproduce the colors on the object.

Correct. Shorter wavelength is better. Tgis is why high power long coherence HeCd were so desirable before diode lasers and DPSS were availavle.....say 180 mW @ 441.6 nm TEM 00 perfect beam. But they were huge, fan cooled, and $40K.

I can get 300 mW Melles Griot BLS 601 lasers for $7K if we can get a few buyers in line. :) Phil

That's a rebranded CNI laser from China. Check their web site.
