Re: Good to be back on the forum
I wasted money on single mode fibers. They don't work. Nice thick, 1 mm, multimode fibers work fine if the laser has enough coherence. Toslink cables are cheap and easy to find. Use any ordinary beam splitter to launch into the fibers.

Hi John,
I have a 315m-100 so probably should be ok with a couple of meters multimode but never tried it. I will give it a go
Do you use inline beam splitters for your ratios or come out to a normal splitter? The inline's look nice for a setup.
Thank you for the advice

Just run the output of the C315 into the beam splitter of your choice - glass plate, polarizing cube, or whatever. Then align the two outputs of the beam splitter into your reference and object fibers. A multimode fiber is very easy to align.
