Looking for a inexpensive way to turn the narrow beam in to a object beam.

@ 17:15 he says he's using a concave mirror. Can I pickup a concave mirror off eBay and do the same?

Links to the iteams would be much appreciated!

Consider trying things you can find around the house for free. Find an old camera, bash it apart, and harvest some lenses from that. Try passing the light through areas on a wine glass stem. Be careful with the back reflections! Glass marbles? Glass door knobs? An old projection TV? Lots of things in everyday life now have lenses in them. Experiment, but always be careful about those back reflections.

Diffusers work too. Look for pieces of frosted glass. Go to a local glass shop and get some scraps for free or cheap.
