Drying marks

Post by thycore »

Hello !

I have like an increasing problem of drying marks on my recent holograms, it seems correlated to the amount of flo I'm using in the flo bath, but if I don't add any flo I have marks aswell.

Could it be related to "maybe" old chemistry ? I see my developer bath has grown some little filaments inside (silver?), would these attach to the gelatin and cause "relief" which would then give these drying marks ?

Anyone experienced the same already ?

I have not worked with silver halide chemistry for nearly thirty years, but I used to use a good quality window squeegee after the final rinse.
If done properly, you should not have any droplets on the emulsion surface.
I was using the Ilford red sensitized holo film at the time and a rehalogenating bleach process.
