Green laser guys: Do you find red stuff to disappear?

Howdy all

I lase at 532nm and feel like I've noticed before that anything colored red seems to become oddly colorless under green laser illumination.

I am designing a new plateholder and am considering coloring it red instead of black in an effort to have it not appear in holograms.

Has anyone else who lases green tried this?

i dont see the point colouring your holder red.
black will always suck up more light then red...
of yourse your lab will look nicer in daylight

And depending on the quality and specific mix of the paint you may actually find that red glows a bit under green light and ends up looking more like yellow.
Go with flat black.

I discovered by accident that blood is totally invisible in red safe light and black in green laser light. I cut my hand on a glass plate and did not see any blood in the safe light, so figured it was just a scratch. Then when I went to adjust the laser beam and saw black spots on my hands. I turned on the white light and my garage looked like a scene from Friday 13th. Amazing...all the places ones hand touches in the timespan of about 10 minutes.
