200 mW 479.5 nm SLM Laser

Post by 142laser »

The title almost says it all but this is a like new Coherent Sapphire custom made laser. The slightly shorter wavelength is achieved by tuning a BFR in the laser when it was manufactured. This laser has 165 hours use on the laser head and will include the fan cooled Coherent heat sink and a custom acrylic case to protect the controller boards. This laser runs happy at 200 mW output and produces 230 mW at full power setting with some curret headroom left to spare. I have tested this head on my scanning interferometer and found it to be pure SLM. So who needs a nice stable SLM 479.5 nm laser with 200 mW SLM outout in a TEM 00 beam? 8-)

Coherent Sapphire 479.5-200 laser, custom acrylic controller case, Coherent heat sink, Coherent DC suply, manual, 165 hours use! Like new! Asking $6,000 Phil, 142laser pbergero@usf<dot>edu (813) 996-5114 (home)

I forgot to add that we have a second Sapphire 479-200 laser with 2122 hours on it also tested to be SLM and capable of 200 mW output. This one we are asking $4.5K for with all the trimmings. Shoot me an e mail or call me on the phone with questions. Merry Christmas! Phil 142laser 8-)

Hapy Friday!

Sam and I have sold 3 of these lasers now and the owners are happy with the performance. These lasers run easy at 150 mW and should provide a long lifetime; Coherent quality is legendary for DPSS products. Don't buy a laser on e bay that has not been tested for SLM output and be sorry later; these are fully tested and you can buy a 200 mW SLM blue laser for as low as $4.5K. Best regards. Hi,
This laser is on e bay right now with a $5,500 bid. One hour left...take a look and buy for $500 less than this post? See e bay #290537126437 Phil, 142laser 8-)

Phil were these buyers holographers? im sure feedback from a fellow holographer may make this laser a little more tempting!

Hi Dave,
You have one of these lasers and have tested it with your Michelson setup right? One of the three we had did lase 8-) with multiple longitudinal modes but the other two seem solid SLM on my Spectra Physics 2GHz FSR interferometer. I can provide mode spectrum pictures. Phil 142laser (813) 974-2378

yes you are correct Phil as i do have one. i have only been able to make a feeble 6 inch deep one beam transmission test shot, its been too cold to shoot anything in my lab! it need to warm up a bit.......... :?

Maybe its time to put some insulation in your lab. I'm in Miami Beach so I have to deal with heat. And a very hot roof. I put in 6 inches min. of insulation and no more problems. I'm using a combination of reflector boards, styrofoam insulation, fiberglass insulation and then plastic coated wall boards. In some spots on the ceiling the insulation is 2 feet thick!

I run the ac when I'm in the room and during settling time the insulation is more than enough to keep the heat from building up.

This 479.5 nm 200 mW capable SLM 8-) laser is still available and is like new with 165 hours on the head. Fully tested for SLM; will re-test to confirm before shipment. The color is slightly bluer than 488 nm...very cool. Phil 142laser
