Did you see this? http://arxiv.org/pdf/1101.0301
It is the science behind "specular holograms:" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reM6XhbkQXM

Handdrawn Hologram
I wish I could see one. He does not seem to sell them or have them on the west coast.
Handdrawn Hologram
When I visited him (he's a senior researcher at MERL, near MIT) I think he said that he will make them & sell them to folks. There might be an art exhibit coming up at some point too. I don't know the price range but they're definitely quite cool.

Re: Handdrawn Hologram
Does anyone know (or is RaulBSP still here) what happened to 3Dsilhouette software by RaulBSP?
I've tried to reach and find the both the software and RaulBSP, but all the links for the software are dead and RaulBSP's email address seems to be out of use. But his work seems quite impressive!
I can understand a 3D cube as in Mr. Duke's YouTube video (the circles on the square), but I'd like to try (rotating) spheres and objects hiding behind each other etc. Don't really know how I'd convert a complex 3D object into a 2D template.
