Wavelength vs. Frequency, or "poor education"

Some kids are getting bizarre test questions in their science classes. There's a forum associated with a nerdy webcomic, xkcd, on which the readers chat about all sorts of stuff. Today a hot topic is how a kid got blasted on a question of frequency... or is it wavelength?
