I blew it! Goldfrapp's 1st album got some buzz, I bought it and was mildly amused but far from hooked. Later stuff, also not impressive. But in between, they released a 2005 album of pure pop genius - Supernature. which I missed. When I recently heard it, I was knocked over sideways- I think they intended it to be a parody of the cheesy ancient electropop that we all love, but in the process, they came up with something even more profoundly apropos to the zeitgeist, kind of like The Who Sell Out without the commercial parodies.
Fly me away (takes a minute or two for the song to start + the cartoons are mildly amusing)
